A WOMAN whose mother was affected by a brain haem-horrage has organised a charity network event to raise awareness about dealing with disability.
Susanne Ingham's mother Anne Peers fell ill six years ago and has battled ill health ever since.
The 59-year-old former Marie Curie nurse, who worked at Montague Street Health Centre, Blackburn, is now entirely dependent on her family.
Susanne, of Oak Dale, Blackburn, said: "Everyone found it immensely difficult because she was no longer the person she once was.
"People are not prepared for a family member to suddenly become disabled but we found a number of organisations which have helped us deal with it."
The networking event - where women can receive advice on setting up a business as well as meeting like-minded professionals - will be held at Blackburn Rovers' Ewood Park ground at 6.30pm on Thursday.
Everyone will be given a booklet with discounts worth £200 and raffle tickets with the chance to win an Andrew Collinge makeover, a mini break at the Dunkenhalgh and a ride in a limousine.
Tickets are £30, with the money raised going to Access Lancashire, the county's disability infor-mation and advice federation.
