A DAREDEVIL will enter the Guinness book of world records after pulling an aeroplane using nothing more than the piercings in his ears.

Professional sideshow performer, Johnny Strange, 26, recently set the record at the North Weald Airfield, Essex.

After gaining the nickname, ‘the man with ears of steel’, by setting the record for the heaviest weight lifted by pierced ears in 2013, Johnny challenged himself to a new attempt ‘the heaviest weight pulled by pierced ears’.

And he managed to pull a Cessna 172-P aircraft weighing in at a staggering 677.8kg for 20.4 metres.

Johnny is not new to performing bizarre stunts having already earned himself eight Guinness World Records.

Some of these are featured in the 2016 Guinness Book of Records which is released released tomorrow.

They include the record for ‘the most melons chopped on the stomach (on a bed of nails in one minute)’ and ‘the most apples held in the mouth and cut in half by a chainsaw’ when he managed to chainsaw 12 apples out of his assistants mouth in one minute.

Johnny tours the world with his show and visited 25 countries last year where he showed off his performance skills in juggling chainsaws, sword swallowing and feats of strength.

He said: “I started off at the age of ten in Blackburn.

“At first I juggled balls, then clubs and went on to knives, fire sticks and now chainsaws.

“Preparing for the plane pull was tough. I have to stretch my ears and create tough scar tissue so they don’t rip.

“I am always delighted when I get another Guinness World Record, the only problem is I’m starting to run out of places to hang up my certificates now. I’m a believer of the impossible, I’ve always been interested in the unusual and the bizarre.

“It’s the obscure things that skew the perception of normality that really fascinate me.”

Simon Lowman, director of The North Weald Flying Group who organised the plane and location, said: “In all my years flying I have seen extraordinary things but I have never seen a plane moved like that .”
