POLICE are warning residents in parts of Burnley after a series of break ins.
Keith Sandham, Watch Liaison Officer at East Division, said: “There has been recent criminal activity in the wards of Trinity and Coalclough.
“Last week, an attempt was made to prise open two UPVC windows at the rear of a house on Harold Avenue. The locks held and the thief was unsuccessful.
“In the early hours of Monday morning burglars gained entry via an insecure downstairs window of a house on Marine Ave and stole cash and a laptop.
“Sometime on Tuesday, a house on Smirthwaite Street was burgled when TVs and jewellery were stolen.
“If you have any information that would be useful please let us know or ring Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111 anonymously.”
