Dale Anthony Duxbury, 25, of Livesey Branch Road, Blackburn, pleaded guilty at Blackburn magistrates to driving without due care and attention, failing to stop and failing to report an accident, driving without insurance and other than in accordance with a licence.
He was made subject to community supervision for 12 months, ordered to do 80 hours unpaid work and pay £300 compensation and £60 victim surcharge.
Charlotte Crane, prosecuting, said Duxbury told police it was his cousin’s car which he took ‘for a drive round’.
He said he had taken a bend too quickly and crashed into the parked car.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said: “As soon as he knew the police were making inquiries he admitted responsibility,” said Mr Taylor.
