A MAN used a cheque belonging to a mosque to get £600 from a pawn shop and then spent it, a court was told.
Burnley magistrates heard Safwan Mahmood, 20, who claimed he found the cheque, had a spree with his friends. He had a caution for stealing from his bosses.
Mahmood, of Midland Street, Nelson, admitted theft and fraud following the incident in February.
He was given 100 hours community punishment, with £50 costs.
