LANCASHIRE Care NHS Foundation Trust’s mindsmatter service is launching a new programme to help people who struggle to get a good night’s sleep.
The mindsmatter service, previously known as improving access to psychological therapies, is launching a new online programme called Sleepio.
The trust is only the second in the country to use this six week course which uses cognitive behavioural therapy to address racing minds and helping people with poor sleep establish a healthy sleep pattern.
Emma Nazurally, service manager for mindsmatter at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, said: “A lack of sleep can cause issues including depression, increased stress and fatigue which can affect daily living.
“With the help of the ‘Prof’, an online character who guides you through the programme, people will learn techniques to help them achieve and maintain a good night’s sleep.”
Anyone interested in the programme can contact the team using the online self-referral form. The scheme is open to people of all ages and people must have access to a computer for the duration of the programme.
