A hard-hitting poster will be appearing on the streets of two East Lancashire towns in a bid to get people to recycle more.
Blackburn with Darwen Council has launched the advert campaign, as part of Thrash the Trash, with the aim of making people think about recycling and their children's future as landfill sites will eventually run out.
Coun Andy Kay, executive member for regeneration, said: "The campaign imagines what the future could look like when we run out of places to dump our rubbish, and the future looks bleak.
"We are saying to people - landfill is running out - that is a fact - and where will all the rubbish go then?
"The message is simple - don't throw it all away recycle what you can - your rubbish could be a big part of your children's future.
