Friends, family and neighbours have paid emotional tributes to Harrison Hartley, the Burnley teenager who was killed in an accident on the M65.

The school where Harrison was a pupil is holding a memorial service so friends can pay their respect to the popular teenager.

Hameldon Community College is holding the service on Thursday following the funeral of the 14-year-old at Burnley Cemetery chapel.

Harrison's sister Taina visited the school yesterday to discuss how the family would like Hameldon to pay tribute to Harrison.

Around 20 of Harrison's friends were involved in the meeting and it was also decided a collection would be held at the service which will help form a lasting legacy.

The school will then ask Harrison's family how they would like the money to be spent.

Headteacher Gill Broome said: "Taina came in and spoke very eloquently about what the family's wishes were and how the school could remember Harrison.

"The family have asked if only close friends could attend the funeral service because the chapel is small and we will have a memorial service in the school.

"People will be able to pay their respects and they will be able to sign the book of condolence.

"We will be holding a collection and we will talk to family later about the most appropriate way to use the money."
