The Langho resident is in the final year of her studies at St Mary’s College in Blackburn and is eyeing a full-time career in the music industry if her recording debut is a success.

The so far untitled EP was recorded at The Grand Venue in Clitheroe with the help of four session musicians and is expected to be available to download in June.

Her first single, ‘ghost’, will also be put on sale later this year with the Whalley Road singer set to start filming the music video shortly.

Grace, who is a former student at Clitheroe Royal Grammar School, is due to travel down to London next month to help put the finishing touches to the EP at the legendary Abbey Road Studios.

The unsigned artist, who is working towards creative arts, drama and music A-Levels, said: “I have been gigging quite a lot and I used to perform every Friday at Angels Restaurant in Longridge.

“I have been trying to do all I can to get my music out there and to build up a fan base.

“I loved the whole experience of recording the EP and it was great to get the input of the session musicians.

“When you are writing the songs yourself you think that they are great but they can only be improved by having other people having their say.

“We spent one day rehearsing and five days in the studio which was amazing.

“I can’t wait to go down to London and finish off mastering the tracks so that they can be released.

“I have my fingers crossed for when it is released and I’m going to try and get it on iTunes as well.

“My music at the moment has been partly inspired by artists like Ella Fitzgerald and I would love to do a jazz and swing album in the future.”

Her dad Bill, 50, said: “I’m very proud of her and think that she is brilliant but it will be up to others to decide whether she can hit the big time.

“Now she is coming to the end of her studies she is starting to think more about the future and we hope that the sky is the limit for her.”
