DOES your husband dress like a tramp? Does your wife's wardrobe look like something from a 1970s clothes catalogue?

Help is at hand for East Lancashire fashion disasters courtesy of a businesswoman who models herself on TV experts Trinny and Susannah.

Deirdre Woodworth, 38, bases her image consultancy business at her home in Clayton-le-Moors, and said she helps people get "the look they really want".

She does that by following a similar scheme to that made famous on BBC 1 show What Not To Wear by Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine.

Her consultation includes a three-point scheme to improve people's looks including, looking at colours, the best styles to wear for your body shape and wardrobe weeding - thowing out old clothes.

As well as running her own business Deirdre is now launching a series of courses at Blackburn and Bury colleges to help people find the right look.

She said: "There are many people who know that they could look better but their dress-sense may let them down.

"It is my role to make sure that people make the most of themselves and feel confident."

She said she helps people with their fashion dilemas for a number of situations, including people wanting to look their best for a wedding or a job and people wanting a complete image makeover.

She works one-to-one or can take groups. And it is not just women, she also has a number of male clients.

Deirdre added: "People come for all sorts of reason but really it's all about feeling better about yourself."

She is trained by Colour Me Beautiful, a national company that bills itself as "Europe's leading image consultants", and works full-time from home in Clayton Way, Sefton Farm, Clayton-le-Moors.

Deirdre is hosting two courses at Blackburn College for people wanting help to change their image.

They follow a similar course at Bury College, which is taking place today.
