VISITORS to the Valley can now get better information about what to do and see thanks to a new high-tech information display.
The "info-pod" is located inside the station office of East Lancashire Railway (ELR) in Rawtenstall, and links to Rossendale's tourism website, www.visitRossendale.co.uk, to give visitors ideas of what they can enjoy during their stay.
Coun Darryl Smith, Rossendale Council's portfolio holder for community and partnerships, said: "The info-pod is a response to calls from councillors and members of the public for more appropriate information for visitors.
"It is also part of the council's tourism strategy."
"If it proves popular, we may site more info-pods in other locations of the borough."
The council is funding the info-pod and working in partnership with the ELR Company.
