PUPILS have left their legacy at three of Accrington's latest redevelopment projects by burying time capsules underneath the buildings.
The time capsule project has seen children from Woodnook, Benjamin Hargreaves and Hyndburn Park Primary schools, selecting items and artefacts from modern life to go in the air-tight canisters.
Yesterday the capsules were sealed into the two new £7.5million Health Centre LIFT projects being masterminded by East Lancashire Primary Care Trust in Blackburn Road and Paradise Street, and the nearby Waterside site of the luxury Scaitcliffe Apartments.
Pupils at Woodnook worked on a then and now' theme for their capsule, which was buried under the apartments.
They included newspapers, coins and photographs in their box.
Deputy head Lorraine Moody said: "We are really proud to be involved in this project and it's really captured the children's imaginations to think that future generations will be uncovering their work."
