AN investigation has been launched after a laundrette fire in Blackburn.

Firefighters from Blackburn were called to the business, in Carlinghurst Road, after a bin caught alight at around 5.55pm.

The fire destroyed the bin, and caused significant damage to the building's interior.

Crew manager Martin Counsell said: "Plaster was coming off the walls.

"It was hard to tell whether the fire was deliberate.

"An investigation has been launched."

Two engines were initially called to the scene, although one was later sent back because it was not needed.
