A MAN was taken to hospital after being assaulted by a would-be thief trying to steal a car.
The 37-year-old was found in Parkes Way, Blackburn, part of the Fernhurst Farm estate, injured and lying in the street just before midnight on Saturday.

Police believe the victim had disturbed his attacker trying to break into cars and was assaulted.
The victim was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital suffering from cuts to his face and possible cheek and jaw fractures.
DS Andy Brown said: “This was a vicious and sustained assault which left a man with serious injuries.
“I appeal to anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious in the area to contact us.”
