THE size of the portions are never a true guide to quality but when the two combine, you're on to a real winner.
Clearly the chef at the New Welcome believes in feeding his customers as our plates were groaning.
I'd gone for my favourite crispy beef with chilli and fruity sauce and the better half chose the duck in plum sauce.
With boiled rice the bill came to £11 - great value considering the amount on offer.
And the quality was as good as the quantity. The strips of beef were crisp without being chewy and the tangy sauce was light and full of flavour.
Often when you choose duck from a takeaway you have to play spot the meat.
But here it looked as though an entire pond's worth had been cooked.
And very well cooked it was too, retaining plenty of flavour and being nice an succulent.
