A MAN was arrested at a petrol station after allegedly attempting to fill up a stolen car with fuel.
Rossendale police said they received reports of a man changing the registration plates on a green Vauxhall Astra parked near Healden Grove House in Blackburn Road, Rising Bridge, at 11.15am this morning (THURS).

Officers working nearby then followed the suspect just 300 yards down the road to the Shell garage at Rising Bridge Service Station, where they made an arrest.
A 20-year-old man from Accrington remains in custody on suspicion of the theft of the car and the attempted theft of fuel.
A police spokesman said the car had been seized and praised witnesses for their vigilance.
