AN OVERTURNED van caused one lane of a busy by-pass to be closed during rush hour traffic.
The incident happened on the Edenfield by-pass southbound on the M66 yesterday at around 5pm.
Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the scene close to the Stubbins turn-off.
However, the driver was not thought to have suffered serious injuries.
Inspector Rob Campbell said an investigation was underway to establish how the Mercedes Sprinter van flipped onto its roof.
One lane of the road was closed for around an hour while the scene was cleared of debris.
