AN air ambulance was called to Lyndhurst Road in Burnley this morning after a schoolboy became trapped under a car.
The 13-year-old was struck by a blue Mazda 3 sports hatchback close to Towneley Park, at around 7.50am

All three emergency services were also called to the scene, and fire and rescue officers used inflatable equipment to raise the vehicle and free the boy.
The Air Ambulance was called to the scene and the teenager was flown to Alder Hey Hospital in Liverpool for treatment.
He suffered significant head injuries, and remains in a serious condition, police said.
At 9.30am several emergency vehicles remained at the scene and a stretch of road was closed to vehicles.
There are temporary diversions around the Celia Street, Lyndhurst Road and Brunshaw Road.
Sgt Tracey Ward, from the Road Policing Unit, said: “This collision has left a teenager with a serious injury and I would appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us.”
