M65 delays after man threatens to jump off bridge near Accrington
THE M65 was closed in both directions last night while police negotiated with a man threatening to jump from a bridge.
The motorway was closed between junction six for Blackburn and junction seven for Accrington from around 10.20pm, causing long delays.
Police said they were alerted to a man threatening to jump from a bridge close to the Dunkenhalgh Hotel.
The matter was resolved after around 30 minutes, and the man was taken to hospital for a mental health assessment.
