A 16-YEAR-OLD boy was stabbed in the stomach during a Christmas Eve dispute at a house in Blackburn.

Police have recovered a kitchen knife from the scene of the attack in Canterbury Street.

A 15-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of wounding and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The pair are believed to be girlfriend and boyfriend and had been at a house party at the address.

Detective constable Neil Pugh said: “A 15-year-old female has been bailed pending further inquiries into the circumstances of the incident.

“It appears the 16-year-old victim was at a house party in Canterbury Street when a domestic dispute started.

“He received injuries from a knife and suffered slight injuries to his stomach. He was taken to hospital, treated and discharged. A kitchen knife has been recovered from the scene.

“The injuries were slight and there as a bit of bleeding but they were in no way life-threatening. Inquires are continuing.”
