FIVE new East Lancashire faces will feature in the latest edition of Who’s Who.

Dragons’ Den star Piers Linney, who grew up in Bacup, and Burnley-born MEP Andrew Lewer, are among the new entrants for the 2015 edition of the book.

They feature alongside celebrities including actress Gillian Anderson and TV presenter Paul O’Grady, who submitted biographies for the first time.

The other new East Lancashire entrants are Blackburn’s Michael Jameson, a director at Bradford City Council, business director Christopher Holcroft, from Burnley, and Colne’s Louise Wilson, chief executive officer of event management agency Signature Sponsorship Ltd.

The 2,500-page book contains more than 33,000 up-to-date biographies of ‘living, noteworthy and influential individuals’.

Mr Linney, a former student at Fearns Community Sports College in Stacksteads, is the co-founder and joint chief executive officer of cloud-based services provider Outsourcery. The entrepreneur, 43, who qualified as a solicitor and then worked in corporate finance and investment, lists his interests as downhill mountain biking, cycling, personal fitness, motor boating and field target shooting.

Mr Jameson, 53, who lives in Clayton-le-Dale, mentions enjoying his spare time at Wilpshire Golf Club. A former group manager at Blackburn with Darwen Council, Mr Jameson, who was educated at St Mary’s College, Blackburn, is now strategic director at Bradford City Council.

Burnley-born Christopher Holcroft, 48, director of strategic business development at Ordnance Survey International in Southampton, lists playing bass guitar as one of his favourite pastimes.

The former Burnley Grammar School pupil and graduate of the London School of Economics, he previously worked for the Royal Meteorological Society and the Association for Geographic Information.

Louise Wilson, who attended Saints John Fisher and Thomas More RC High School, Colne, founded marketing firm Signature Sponsorship. As well as acting as client services director for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012, she enjoys recreational astrology. Last year, the 49-year-old was appointed as a trustee of Historic Royal Palaces.

Mr Lewer, Conservative MEP for East Midlands, was the leader of Derbyshire County Council, is 43 and moved from Burnley to Derbyshire, at a young age.
