ALMOST 15 per cent of the north west workforce is now self-employed, new statistics have revealed.
The data, released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed 13.5 per cent of the region's workers work for themselves.

Tim Ryan, executive chairman at UNA, an alliance of 12 insurance brokers from across the UK, said the figures created 'additional insurance needs'.
He said: "Whilst the numbers of those in self-employment are growing, it is vital for them to consider their insurance requirements from all angles and to do so it’s best to seek the advice of a broker who is experienced at recognising risks, and can normally provide a range of appropriate solutions.”
