There were delays this morning on the M65 and A59 after accidents.

At 4am, a lorry heading towards Blackburn from Clitheroe over-turned leading to the A59 being closed near Langho.

The driver was initially trapped inside the vehicle but was released and suffered no serious injuries.

Meanwhile, a pedestrian was hit by a HGV on the M65 westbound between Junctions Five and Four at about 6am.

Due to slow moving traffic there were no serious injuries and the road has now reopened.

Next to nothing on the roads at 4am, no snow or ice, no very strong gusting winds, how do you turn a lorry over?

Not really Anon, it's known as Hanlons Razor.

Explains many comments on these pages, except those by Trolls, such as 2for5p, for whom the opposite applies. :-)

Driver on a road is to pedestrian on motorway, as sleep is to walking, perhaps?

Failing to remain focused on the road resulting in last minute panic reaction with the steering wheel hence lorry load not remaining stable which will finally sway the front cab as it is attached to the trailer and as it pivots the driver will not only lose control but the trailer will push the cab on its side tipping the the whole vehicle.
