IT was a lucky 13 for Age UK as a group of Blackburn College students raised £360 for the local branch of the charity for the elderly.
The Level One Public Services Diploma students helped raise the considerable amount over two days.
First of all they held a ‘Bobble Day’ where they visited other departments and areas within the college, set up stalls and raised the profile of Age UK with posters and leaflets they designed themselves.
The second event involved a collection at a supermarket with double shifts needed for busy times.
Lecturer Michael McIver said: “By the end, these students had raised an incredible £360 and were one of the major factors in Age UK exceeding their charitable goals.
“These students numbered only 13, so it was an excellent achievement.”
