Lancashire Telegraph: Burnley postal workers threaten three more strike days Burnley postal workers threaten three more strike days

STAFF at Burnley’s sorting office in Bank Parade are planning to walk out over Easter, after a long-running dispute has remained unresolved.

Workers plan to walk out in support two long-serving colleagues, including Burnley Borough Council leader Stuart Caddy, who they believe were unfairly dismissed by Royal Mail.

Employees are planning to withdraw their labour this Thursday, Saturday and the following Tuesday.

Around 100 members of the Communication Workers Union held a one-day strike at the end of last month. The CWU’s North West Regional Secretary, Carl Webb said: “There’s been no resolution to the dispute.”

A spokeswoman for Royal Mail said talks were ongoing.

Absolutely ridiculous. Internal dispute but we'll punish the customers anyway, this time for 3 days.

In an era where customer service is paramount for business these dinosaurs still exist where the customer is the last thing on their minds.

The next step in this cycle is that those customers who are able keep taking their business elsewhere to get the service they need. The CWU then complains about reduced workforces, additional stress on workers. They can't connect the dots. They're still stuck in 1974.

So they wanted an extra long holiday? No wonder people think they're lazy b*stards.... What's wrong with them this time? No chocolate biscuits to go with their brew?
