DARWEN MP Jake Berry has urged residents to sign a petition calling for Bailey’s Field to be protected from over-development ahead of next week’s deadline.
The campaign was launched after Darwen residents raised concerns about Blackburn with Darwen Council’s decision to earmark it as a develpment site for 500 houses.
Mr Berry said: “There are just a few more days left to show everyone that Bailey’s Field should be protected from over-development.
“Hundreds of people from across Darwen have supported the petition so far and I would urge as many people as possible to sign it.
“Anyone who lives in Darwen will tell you that this site is not suitable for such a massive development.”
To sign the petition, visit www.protectbaileysfield.tk or call 01254 701258 for a paper copy. The petition will be presented to council bosses next week.
