CHARITIES have raised concerns after a survey revealed half of parents did not know the correct procedure to take if their child started choking.
The survey was commissioned to mark the publication of the latest edition of the First Aid Manual.
It contains information on the new choking technique.
Previously, the advice was to place infants along the parent’s arm face down, but this has changed to placing the baby face down along the thigh.
A spokesman for the North West branch of St John Ambulance said: “The new manual is a must for every home.”
