A ROSSENDALE gardening group has landed a county council grant.

Limey Valley Allotments’ Association, based in Loveclough, has been given £500 by County Coun Alyson Barnes to develop its plot at Badgercote, off Burnley Road.

The money has been earmarked to cover part of the start-up costs of establishing the project, including the purchase of materials for the track way and car park.

The plots will also have associated sheds and greenhouses, a communal allotment building and a composting toilet housed in a timber building.

The scheme received planning permission last year.
