A POLICE officer ended up bleeding and with a split lip and nose after he was attacked when called out to domestic trouble, a court heard.
Burnley magistrates were told PC Chris Hutchinson was punched in the face with great force by Lee Beck.
Beck had to be pepper sprayed twice to stop him resisting arrest in Padiham, on January 3.
Beck could now be facing a custodial sentence, after the bench described the assault on the officer as ‘very serious’.
The defendant, of Chapelhouse Road, Nelson, admitted causing £45 damage to a door belonging to Lisa Bottomley and police assault.
He was bailed until February 5 for a pre-sentence report, on condition he does not contact Lisa Bottomley, does not enter Padiham and lives at his address in Nelson.
