Business skills that run in the family

Two businesses were opened within the space of a few months last year and have become a real family affair. The Hungry Duck in Bridge Street, and the Galleria D’Arte in Bolton Street, were opened by father and daughter team Peter Kerfoot and Sarah Morton. The restaurant was opened in May last year when Mr Kerfoot put his daughter in charge. After running a successful microbiology testing business in Bury, Mr Kerfoot decided to sell the business, and subsequently opened a contemporary art gallery in September. At the age of 21, daughter Sarah was made manager of The Hungry Duck. Sarah said: “It was a bit of a challenge at first, but I am really enjoying it.”
