East Lancashire baker cooking up a new look
RE-BRANDED baker Clayton Park Bakery is ready to hit the shelves with a new look and also an industry-leading packaging information.
Clayton Park has launched a new design to showcase its range which includes pies, savouries, morning goods and cakes, focusing on its East Lancashire heritage and craft-baked approach.
The new look was unveiled for the first time on Clayton Park’s four-packs of hot cross buns, which went on sale this week, before being rolled out across the rest of their ranges over the next few months.
The packaging also contains extra information on allergens in line with new EU regulations on the provision of food information for consumers that will come into force in December.
“We are excited by the new packaging and hope it will be well received and instantly recognisable for our customers,” said Clayton Park Bakery managing director Barry Thomas.
“We wanted the illustration to reflect the fact that our products are craft-baked by our own dedicated team of bakers on our premises across two specialist bakeries in East Lancashire.
“We pride ourselves on our baking heritage and our use of local products and suppliers wherever possible.
“The new packaging also reflects the changes the company is making in terms of continued growth and the extended product range.”
Clayton Park Bakery, which was formed in 1995 and employs over 100 people, recently made a multi-million pound investment in a second unit near its Accrington head office to increase production of its morning goods.
The re-designed packaging will also allow Clayton Park to comply with new EU regulations regarding product information 11 months before they become compulsory.
“The new packaging also carries all the nutritional, sourcing and allergen information that will be required under EU law by the end of 2014,” added Barry Thomas “We have addressed that situation several months early.
“That is to make sure that all our customers are getting all the information that they require to know about our products.”
