BISHOP of Blackburn Julian Henderson met his Blackpool FC counterpart Neal Bishop in his quest visit the home grounds of all seven league clubs in his diocese.
His visit to Bloomfield Road on Saturday follows a trip to Ewood Park on the day he was inaugurated. Bishop Julian, once a five-a-side soccer coach, now plans to visit Burnley, Accrington, Fleetwood, Morecambe and Preston home games.
His spokesman said: “Bishop Julian recognises football is an important part of Lancashire life. Previous bishops have also been invited to attend local games and many have done so, but this is the first time one has made a concerted effort to visit the seven Championship and Football League clubs across the county.”
