A WOMAN is being held hostage by a man with a knife in Burnley.
Police received a call just after 4:30pm on Monday about the incident at an address on Escott Gardens in Burnley.
A cordon is in place and a negotiator remains at the scene speaking with a 20-year-old man on the phone.
Police have spoken with the woman concerned, who remains inside the property.
Police now believe there is a third person in the property - who is related to the man.
The situation is ongoing.
Last night, a small group of youths threw fireworks towards the police cordon. They were moved on without further incident.
