A NURSERY for children with disabilities has received a £543 boost from a country councillor for new equipment.
Stepping Stones Developmental Therapy Unit, in Warner Street, Haslingden, will use the cash to buy a specially adapted Rifton chair for toddlers.
County Councillor David Stansfield, for Rossendale West, approved the local member grant following an application from the nursery’s parents’ association.
The unit, which is managed by 17 volunteers, said: “It will provide an additional piece of equipment which will be used by children with additional needs, encouraging them to be positioned correctly, maintaining a good seating posture.
“The parents’ association had said it would have to use its own fundraising to buy the chair without the help of County Coun Stansfield.”
