Boxing promoter talks to Pendle Vale College students

A GROUP of year ten students at Pendle Vale College received a motivational talk from the youngest boxing promoter in the UK.

Spencer Fearon, who is also a presenter on the Sky Sports show Toe 2 Toe, spoke to the students at the Nelson school this week.

The visit was organised by Whitefield Youth Association as part of its work in the community to help young people realise their full potential and to help them achieve a brighter future.

The purpose of the talk was to provide the students with an insight into the tough upbringing he had and how he overcame this.

Imran Iqbal, student support co-ordinator at Pendle Vale, said: “We are grateful to Spencer Fearon taking time out of his busy schedule and giving the opportunity for our students to hear his story and how he made a success of his life.

“I would also like to thank Whitefield Youth Association for its continued support in working in partnership with Pendle Vale College in providing personal development programmes to our students in preparing them for the future.”
