A PENSIONER has been taken to hospital with ‘serious’ injuries after being hit by a car.
The woman, who is around 80 years of age, was struck in Bacup Road, Rawtenstall, at around 4.30pm.
The road, which is the main road in Rawtenstall, is closed for accident investigation work to take place. A police spokesman described the woman’s injuries as ‘serious but not life threatening’.
