A RIBBLE Valley reverend has left hospital and is on the ‘road to recovery‘ after undergoing an emergency triple heart bypass.
Rev George Derby, who is in charge of St Andrew’s Church in Slaidburn, was admitted to hospital three weeks ago for a check up for suspected angina.
After undergoing scans at Royal Blackburn Hospital, he was transferred to Blackpool to have the surgery last week.
His wife, Pauline, said: “He’s home now and very much on the road to recovery. It will be a while before he is back working but the services are all being covered while he is resting.”
