THE funeral of a man who fell to his death from a window was held in Darwen today.
Father-of-one Anthony Peter Goldie was staying at the Salvation Army’s Bramwell House hostel, in Heaton Street, Blackburn, when he fell from an upstairs window on November 19.
The 35-year-old unemployed floor fitter had barricaded himself in a room before his death, Blackburn Coroner’s Court heard on Wednesday.
Coroner Michael Singleton adjourned an inquest until January 15. A service for Mr Goldie, known as Tony, will be held at Sacred Heart and St Edward’s Church, Darwen, at 11am, followed by committal at Pleasington Crematorium.
Mr Goldie’s family have asked mourners not to wear black, and for family flowers only. Donations can be made to the Salvation Army, care of Darwen Funeral Service.
