JAKE Berry, MP for Rossendale, has welcomed a 6p drop in petrol prices at Rossendale Tesco branches following his campaign to end the ‘rip off at the pumps’.
Tesco prices have now dropped to 127.9p per litre following a peak of 133.9p on November 2.
Mr Berry has been campaigning against the high fuel prices at Rossendale Tesco branches, compared to those in nearby Bury, Burnley, and Accrington.
He said: “It’s fantastic to see that prices have dropped back in line with nearby Tesco stores following our campaign to end the ‘rip off at the pumps’.
“Rossendale motorists should not have to put up with inflated prices, and I’m really pleased that Tesco have listened to us.
“I’ll be meeting with Tesco later this month to make sure they get the message that motorists here in the Valley will not accept being ripped off any longer.”
