A BLACKBURN company is looking to raise £50,000 for Macmillan Cancer Care by selling official football Onesies.

The local firm, Love My Ltd, sells branded football club onesies, which ship all over the world.

It said £1 plus VAT from each onesie sale was being donated to the charity.

The initiative has only been running for a month, and has already raised £2,000. Staff are hoping to raise £50,000 in a year, and £20,000 by Christmas.

Managing director Anthony Payne said: “I started Love My Limited in November 2012 when I realised no-one was producing football club onesies.

“I wanted to buy a Rovers onesie for my little girl, and I couldn’t find one.

“I initially manufactured 2,000 of my own brand onesies, which sold out in 2 weeks. In January I designed a onesie and approached the football clubs to acquire the official licences. We now offer official onesies for seven Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotpur.

“We’ve had a lot of orders from the Far East, from Thailand and Singapore, and we’ve done a few to New York in the past week.”

Anthony said that he would like to expand his range, and would love to start selling Blackburn Rovers’ onesies.

He said: “I wanted to get these established because I know that these would be globally the most popular clubs, but I’m a big Rovers fan, and my little girl and my little boy would love a Rovers one.

”We’ve also got the World Cup onesies for next year, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that England qualify. If they don’t I’m in a mess.”

Anthony said that he made the decision to partner with Macmillan because the charity was one close to his heart.

He said: “Love My Ltd have partnered with Macmillan Cancer Care and we have committed to raising £50,000 in the next 12 months.

“The main driver behind this decision is I have first-hand experience of the wonderful job they do. Unfortunately, I lost my Mum from cancer when I was relatively young and the care from the MacMillan nurses was incredible.

“I had always wanted to try to give something back in memory of my wonderful Mum, and thought this was a perfect opportunity.”
