A TOP Hallowe’en attraction is set to expand its frightening facilities.

Hawkshaw Farm, in Clayton-le-Dale, has received funding to create a dedicated building to house the Scare Kingdom attractions.

Eric Dowson, managing director of EB Dowson and Son, said the improved infrastructure would mean the quality of attractions would be enhanced, and the impact Scare Kingdom has on the successful day-to-day operation of the dairy farm and ice cream manufacturing reduced.

It will also allow them to offer fright night experiences throughout the year for the first time in 2014.

Mr Dowson said: “This new investment will allow us to give our visitors even more of a scare this year.

“Being able to have some of our attractions set up all year will save us time, but it will also gives us a larger calendar of events.

“The experience changes each year, so people don’t know what to expect when they come back. We don’t just have people jumping out saying ‘boo’.

“We hire professional act- ors to deliver a genuinely terrifying night for our vis-itors. It’s our intention to continue growing Scare Kingdom.”

EB Dowson and Son runs Scare Kingdom Scream Park in partnership with AtmosFEAR!

AtmosFEAR! specialises in providing creative cont-ent, and actors, for fright night attractions.

The attraction welcomed more than 8,000 visitors in 2012, including a couple who travelled from Australia.

It will be open this year from Saturday until Saturday, November 9.

Mr Dowson said he was expecting the visitor numbers to exceed 10,000 this year.
