A 'DRUNKEN' lout who repeatedly spat in the face of a Nelson pub boss has been banned from the premises for a year.

Burnley magistrates heard how Michal Czarnowusy, 23, had attacked Angela Bibby after he was thrown out of the Station pub on Hibson Road.

He was aggressive and abusive and was eventually taken to the ground by customers.

Czarnowusy, of Holly Street, Nelson, admitted assault by beating on September 13.

He was given a community order, with 140 hours unpaid work and must pay £85 costs, a £60 victim surcharge and compensation of £50 to the victim.

Bench chairman Graham Jagger, who said the defendant had degraded Ms Bibby, also imposed a 12 month exclusion order from the pub.

Andrew Robinson, prosecuting, said the victim, the manager at the Station, told staff not to sell him any more alcohol.

Mr Robinson said Ms Bibby told him he needed to leave and tried to take him out of the pub.

He became aggressive and abusive, turned and spat two or three times in Ms Bibby's face.
