BURNLEY will be featured on the iconic BBC show Antiques Roadshow next weekend.
The classic Sunday programme will feature Towneley Hall in the first of a two part special in the town after the popular BBC show filmed at the hall in June.
The crew from the BBC were so impressed with the hall and its surroundings that Burnley will feature in two episodes of the show, the first of which to be broadcast on BBC1 on Sunday, October 13 at 8pm.
Presenter Fiona Bruce was so taken aback by Towneley Hall that she gave it a mention in her travel column in a national newspaper.
She said of the jewel in Burnley’s crown: “This is a place owned by the people of Burnley and much used by them; to stroll with the children, kick a ball about, have a picnic, enjoy a meal and marvel at the wonders inside.
“Now you can join them.
“The gardens around the house are beautifully manicured, no municipal car park plants here.”
