PLANS to expand one of Clitheroe’s churches have been seen by the congregation.
Church bosses tabled a proposal to add an extension to St Mary Magdalene’s Church, which would be used by parishioners and the wider community, after the sale of the St Mary’s Centre.
The proposal, which the church is working on with English Heritage, Ribble Valley Borough Council and the Church of England, would see a building added to the north side of the grade II-listed building.
St Mary’s Centre, in Church Street, is being sold to the Lancaster Foundation for an undisclosed fee.
The Rev Andy Froud said: “We had a very productive meeting and members of the congregation came up with some very good suggestions and additions to the plan. We need to go away and work on it a bit more.”
