A BURNLEY pervert who had a stash of more than 25,000 internet child porn images has been warned to expect jail.

Burnley Crown Court heard how David Mark Worrell, 30, downloaded indecent pictures of youngsters and also distributed photos, by making them available on a file sharing website.

Worrell, of Carter Street, had already admitted three counts of distributing an indecent image of a child involving almost 50 level three, four and one images, and five charges of making an indecent photo of a child.

He had owned up to downloading 280 photos at level five — the most serious level — 1,500 pictures at level four, 1,500 images at level three, 353 at level two and 15,000 at level one.

The offences took place at Colne between June 2011 and last October. The defendant, who had no previous convictions, was back in the dock yesterday when he pleaded guilty to 10 more allegations.

He admitted five allegations of distributing an indecent image of a child — 10 images at level five, 314 images at level four, 114 pictures at level three, 156 pictures at level two and 3,920 images at level one and five counts of making a indecent photo of a child — one image at level five, 114 at level four, 22 at level three, 11 pictures at level two and 1,297 images at level one.

The latest offences took place between last December and this July, the court heard. Worrell was remanded in custody until October 30.

Judge Beverley Lunt told him: “You will be sentenced when the probation service have done an assessment on you.

“Obviously, you will be going to prison.

“The only question is for how long.”
