A MAJOR road has been closed for an hour following a collision.
Police and fire crews were called to an accident at 6pm involving one vehicle at the A56 at Edenfield after an incident on the slip road towards Haslingden and Helmshore.
The collision has seen only minor injuries, but the A56 will be closed at the Haslingden exit until after 7pm.
The injured woman is disabled and firefighters are cutting her free from her vehicle.
The road closure is expected to cause congestion for traffic using the A566 and M66.
