THIS year’s Darwen Pedal Car Grand Prix has been split into two races to pit the fastest vehicles against each other and allow pub teams their own fun competition.
The fourth annual running of the event, which sees teams take part in a two-hour relay around a town centre circuit, will be on Sunday, July 21.
One of the organisers, John Pocock, said: “The race will be split into two parts this year, the main race then at the same time a Fun Race for pubs.
“This will increase the fun aspect and also challenge some of the ‘quicker’ buggies.”
Former councillor Phil Jones, who devised the original concept, has pledged his support and is once again helping with organisation.
