A FUNDRAISER is to be held tomorrow in memory of a 21-year-old lifeguard who died after suffering a stab wound to his neck.

Jake Harris, who worked at Whitworth Leisure Centre for five years, was described by his family as a “hero”.

He now has a memorial Facebook page which has been ‘liked’ by more than 3,000 people.

Mr Harris, who lived with his grandparents Hilary and Howard Wild, in Littleborough, was found with a deep wound to his neck in an apartment complex in Blackfriars Road, Salford, on May 27.

Police said it was caused by glass.

The event in his memory is to be held at Darli Bar, in Packer Street, Rochdale.

It will be hosted by Jak Devine and Zacky C and entry is £3.
