CANCER battler Sam Shaw, four, from Hoddlesden, was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital on Friday after a spike in his temperature.
He was suffering the effects of his latest round of chemotherapy, and was put on a harsh course of anti-biotics due to his weak immune system. He was also suffering from an upset stomach, muscusitis, and a sore throat.
Mum Christine said: “He has had lots of TLC from his family and the wonderful nurses at Blackburn. We are so proud of Sam. He gets knocked down by the chemo, but just keeps on bouncing back.”
Sam, whose family are trying to raise £250,000 to take him to America for treatment, was back at home yesterday.
More than £35,000 has been raised so far, but dozens of big donations have not yet registered on the Just Giving website. To donate go to: http://www. justgiving.com/SamShawAppeal
