A TV presenter from Burnley who offered her culinary services on eBay has raised £1,485 for sick Hoddlesden youngster Sam Shaw.
Former Bucks Fizz singer, Sally Jacks, 35, from Ightenhill who appeared on Channel Four’s Come Dine With Me sold her winning meal on the internet site following the show being aired on May 10.
The meal, which consists of Halloumi Stuffed Peppers for starter, Posh Fish ‘n’ Chips served with salt ‘n’ vinegar sauce, minted mushy peas and tomato fondue for main, and a dessert of Meringue Gelato Cake with mixed berries and chocolate sauce, was sold for £1,485. The money raised went to the Sam Shaw Appeal to help pay for the Hoddlesden four-year-old to have potentially life-saving treatment in US for an aggressive form of cancer, neuroblastoma.
To increase Sam’s chance of survival by 20 per cent the family need to raise £250,000 by June, in order to access treatment only available in the US.
Sally said: “Sam’s story broke my heart and I offered to do anything possible to help the family raise their target.”
